Do it yourself wedding flowers!?

Hi All,

I am getting married in June of %26#039;08. I pretty much do not like my florist and have tried to work with him several times. Soooo, I%26#039;ve decided to order the flowers myself and do everything myself besides the centerpieces. I have PLENTY of help lined up. My bouquet with have two different color roses in it and the bridesmaids will as well just smaller (8 roses total for bm%26#039;s). The flowers outside will be 4 vases with about 20-30 roses and greenery in them and three roses on the end chair in each row with a pink bow. I am just curious if anyone has done this before? ANY advice would be awesome. If so do you have any helpful hints? Also, how early before the wedding were your flowers delivered? Any advice on storing them etc. ?? Thanks for your help :)

P.S. I have already purchased the flowers through a wholesaler so there is no turning back! They are all roses by the way so atleast I don%26#039;t have alot of different flowers to work with.

Do it yourself wedding flowers!?
I did my own flowers and boutonnieres for my wedding in September. We ordered through a wholesaler (www.theflowerexchange.com) and they turned out better than I could have ever imagined. It was just my mom and I who did them. This link (http://www.theknot.com/co_profileview.ht... really helped with tips.

Good luck! I%26#039;m sure they%26#039;ll turn out beautifully.
Reply:Store them in a refrigerator. Flowers need to be cold to keep fresh once cut. If you treat them gingerly they should be fine. Florist wire the heads to the stems so that if it breaks the head stays with the stem and doesn%26#039;t fall off. You have taken on quite a bit using fresh flowers. I hope your help comes through. The wholesaler should be able to tell you the very latest you can have them shipped so they will be fresh and you won%26#039;t have to store them long.

My husband and I are renewing our vows in our Church (we had a civil ceremony before). I am doing silks and have them all ready made, centerpieces etc. But that is the beauty of silk you can make them well in advance and storage isn%26#039;t a problem. They are less expensive as well. Below is my website.
Reply:First, realize that what your taking on is going to be challenging, however, it is not impossible. If you have decided to take this on, you must have a knack for doing crafts and things, I know you can do it. It is not that difficult.

Basically, what I would DEFINITELY DO...is go to a florist and purchase enough of these flowers to do two bouquets well ahead of the date of your wedding... and do a couple of %26#039;practice%26#039; bouquets.

This will do two things. First, it will give you some idea of the time and level of difficulty your going to face when you start to assemble the bouquets so you can multiply that by the amount of bouquets you have planned for the day of the wedding. Second, it will allow you to modify them, either to make them more elaborate or more simplified to suite your tastes. The information that the prep will give you will prove to be invaluable when you start counting down to the last days before your wedding.

Now, as far as the flower delivery time goes, the closer you can make it to the day of the wedding the better. With roses, you can keep them refrigerated and get them in bud form about three days before the wedding, which should allow plenty of time for assembly.

Make sure you have plenty of floral tape, vases for the bouquets, and all the stuff to actually %26#039;assemble%26#039; them. Don%26#039;t forget the flowers for the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom to wear. Don%26#039;t forget the booteniers for the guys as well. These things are expected. Also, some opt for flowers to put at the end of the isle on the church pews, (if you are in fact getting married in a church).

To assemble your flowers into a bouquet, you can find supplies at Wal-Mart, at a craft store, or at a florist. I suggest that you go onto Craigslist.com and put out the word that you want old wedding bouquets that you can tear apart and repurpose for your bouquets. Many times you can save TONS of money by doing this. You will need to get floral tape to bind all the stems together. They do not have to be perfect, just pretty. The way you are doing this will be a HUGE money saver. AND... it will have the added benefit of your KNOWING that your florist will not be late, and that the flowers will be JUST the way you want them to be. Have fun with it. It is afterall, YOUR day.

HERE IS A WEBSITE...that depicts 8 basic types of floral arrangements. It tells you what to use to achieve the looks you desire using foam or floral tape to bind the arrangement together. If you want more websites, just go to your toolbars search engine and type in the words %26#039;How to floral arrangements%26#039;.... tons of sites will come up. (It is how I found this one.)

http://www.save-on-crafts.com/eigbasflow...

Congratulations on getting married, I wish you much joy and happiness in the future.... and GOOD for YOU for taking matters into your own hands... Literally. I love that you have that %26#039;Can Do%26#039; attitude!!!
Reply:I haven%26#039;t done it yet, but I am doing it, so I can%26#039;t help you much there.

All I can say is practice, practice, practice. When roses are on sale, pick them up at the grocery store and make a bouquet. It%26#039;s not as easy as it looks, but it%26#039;s not terribly difficult. Practice wrapping the stems with ribbon (I assume that%26#039;s what you are doing)...this is not a trivial task.

Simplify your designs as much as possible. You don%26#039;t want a whole bunch of stress on your rehearsal day and wedding day!!!
Reply:Hi. I think I answered your other question, but you must have changed it with this one.

YES...I have done this...but not bouquets. Bouquets will take a lot of work. Look online...there are step by step directions. Practice with some roses beforehand.

If you are having a Saturday wedding, have your flowers delivered on Thursday. It%26#039;s a LOT of work. You will need to unpackage them....cut the stems...put them in buckets of water with rose food.

They will need to be in a COOL/COLD place. Our wedding was in the summer and I have central air...so it was no problem! You will get instructions that come with the flowers. You CANNOT put them in regular refrigerators. Only commercially grade refrigerators.

The flowers will not look that good at first...don%26#039;t freak out! You will need to do everything the DAY before...and then they may still not look that good. Keep them in water overnight...and then the morning of the wedding...you will need to have someone wrap the stems with floral tape and then silk ribbon or whatever you are using to %26quot;hold%26quot; the bouquets!

Good luck!
Reply:enroll in a floristry course at your local TAFE

It is cheap to do and will give you a better idea of what you need to do.

And remember simple is better. not only will it look more effective but it will be easier and less stressfull. I am doing my flowers, simple gerberas tied together with a ribbon. Sounds boring but it looks really effective.

What are the best sources of flower purchase?

Your local florist! Florists are the most knowledgeable resource that you will find when looking for fresh cut flowers. Also, when dealing with a local florist you will be able to hand select or even special order your flowers.

An online florist can%26#039;t do any of those things!

What are the best sources of flower purchase?

For perennials I like to see what the actual plants are locally and compare the same plant at different stores - if a plant looks alright and is reasonably priced then I%26#039;ll buy it. Perennials are an investment so I want to make sure the root systems look good and the plant is not so small that it won%26#039;t survive the harsh winters here.

For annuals I mostly plant seed because it%26#039;s cost effective and requires very little effort. It is also a great way to fill in between the new perennials. Marigolds, petunias, cosmos, etc., are all easy to grow by dropping seed on the ground. If you want to buy petunias/marigolds or some other annual, check to make sure the plant looks healthy, the root system looks good, and pick a plant with buds rather than the flowers.

I%26#039;ve had great luck at local nurseries, home depot type places, walmart, etc. but I%26#039;ve also had pretty good luck at bluestone perennials and park seed online.

good luck!

What are the best sources of flower purchase?
i purchase 99% of all my plants from lowes and i buy them off the distressed plant racks. most garden centers like wal mart, home depot, kmart, etc has the marked down plants. it just isnt possible for these stores to take care of the plants the way they need to be so they end up marking lots down to get them out of the store but still get a little bit out of them (im a former lowes employee in the garden center)It saves a bundle of money and i have never lost a plant i have bought from the racks. usually once you get them out of the pots and they are watered and cared for they turn out beautiful!

I have bought annuals/perineals/shrubs/trees/roses for .10 to 5.00

All my roses were bought for 1.00 a piece

go to local flower market.
Reply:A local flower shop. Would probably be the freshest you can find. Don%26#039;t go with on-line flower places, those places use local florists, but rip them off. The end consumer gets lower quality flowers that way. I used to work for proflowers, they are a legit place with their own fields, but if you use their same day service, you are not getting their flowers. TRUST ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:you can always go to a flower shop in a large city shop or you can go on to google.com or something to order them

How long after being purchased from a flower store can flowers last before needing water?

I%26#039;m buying some for my girlfriend, but because of schedules and where we%26#039;re going, the flowers will be purchased but won%26#039;t be in water until 4 hours later

I want them to be alright because she loves having them in her house!

just wrap them in some wet paper towel around the stem and keep them out of the direct sun, they will be fine.

A website where I can purchase a white flowering crab?

Does anyone know of a website where I can purchase a white flowering crab? I found a website, but they have a minimum purchase price of $80. I just want to purchase a small 3 to 4 foot tree that can be shipped to my house.

A website where I can purchase a white flowering crab?
The site is a good one, but it takes forever to get your trees. I had better luck with

http://www.arborday.org/

you get ten free trees for joining!
Reply:Arbor Day Foundation

I don%26#039;t think they have any minimum purchase, and their trees are reliable. I%26#039;ve planted about 15 different kinds from them. The only one that didn%26#039;t make it - they sent me a replacement for.

I%26#039;ve used freetreesandplants as well. Two lilacs and two forsythia. All four are doing well, two years later.

I should also mention, your trees will be smaller than 3-4 feet. Basically a bareroot %26quot;stick%26quot;. But plant it right away, and they%26#039;ll grow well. Three years ago, I planted a dozen bareroot, 2 foot %26quot;sticks%26quot;, and today the smallest one is about 8 feet tall, and 6 feet wide.

How does one give/take flowers to a graveside service?

can i purchase cut flowers and just bring them wrapped?

Or will a florist deliver to the graveyard?

Or do i have to go thru the funeral services folks (that are driving the body to the graveyard in a hearse from a distant city)

There is no funeral or memorial service happening (there has been a viewing in another city)

I don%26#039;t want anything socially awkward but i didn%26#039;t send flowers to the viewing...The flowers are from a big group, my brothers, me, my mom; all our famlies.

I want the answer for what would be socially normal for american christians. the expected etiquette.

I know i can actually do absolutely anything i want.

How does one give/take flowers to a graveside service?
If you are going to attend the funeral / graveside service yes bring flowers with you to lay on the grave or casket.( if that is your thing..)

If you will not be attending the ceremony and would like to show your respect and condolences I feel that you should send the flowers to the family. The florist can deliver them to the house .. give the name and address details. As for having them sent to the graveside Im not too sure about that.. who is going to lay them for you?

Alot of times there is a request .. %26quot; in lieu of flowers a donation%26quot; .. to a charity of the family%26#039;s choice... this is always nice and what I prefer to do.

I do this because of what my grandmother said before she died. %26quot; please dont bring me flowers when I die, Im not going to be there to enjoy them.%26quot;

I still every so often bring flowers to her grave but its usually wild flowers that I pick out of the garden. Those were her favorites.

Flowers are a nice sentiment, but I would send them to the family to enjoy instead of to the grave to just sit there.
Reply:If you are making a trip to the graveside to show respect, carrying flowers would be appropriate. If you are not actually going to the gravesite, you can request a delivery by the florist. (Have all the information...name, site #, etc. available for the florist).
Reply:Sometimes cemeteries have their own rules. If the funeral hasn%26#039;t occured yet, the florist would probably deliver them to the funeral director, who would bring them along. If it%26#039;s over %26amp; you want to bring them yourself, ask the cemetary what there rules are.

I want to plant a bulb garden this autumn. Where is the best place to purchase flower bulbs?

tulips, crocus, daffodils and narcissus, anemone, hyacinth, amaryllis, and iris

I want to plant a bulb garden this autumn. Where is the best place to purchase flower bulbs?
You can get them at any garden store - Home Depot, Lowes, etc. or you can buy them online from places like the Michigan Bulb Company. If you know someone who has a nice garden, maybe they can give you some bulbs, since they need to be thinned out occasionally. My mom grows KILLER red %26amp; yellow tulips %26amp; she gave me a basket full of her bulbs. I can wait till spring to see how they look!
Reply:There are a lot of places online you can order from or you can check your local nursery, home depot, lowes, etc
Reply:I find Garden Express one of the best suppliers of most bulbs. Reasonable too. Prompt delivery always and all bulbs arrive in excellent condition. At present I am enjoying many and varied flowers from bulbs planted this year.
Reply:I believe you shouldn%26#039;t buy bulbs unless you can see them. That means no mail order because you%26#039;re buying based on what their catalog says. You may get small bulbs and they may come too late or early. If there%26#039;s a mistake in your order it%26#039;s too late to resolve it.

I think it%26#039;s much better to go to a good lawn %26amp; garden center and buy them there. Usually they carry different grades of bulbs from very large, that you can usually buy individually, to the medium and smaller grades which usually come in packages of various quantities. Also never buy a bulb that smells rotten or that is soft.
Reply:If you want to get extremely large bulbs you can go to Dutch Bulbs, White Flower Farm, Brent and Becky%26#039;s Bulbs. There are so many online places to buy bulbs. Look them up.
Reply:Ebay from Rarebulbs.com they are cheap, great quality, and fast shipping. And they are always quick to answer any questions on planting guides etc.
Reply:The local garden supply store.
Reply:Just about every store at this time of year, including Wal-Mart sells bulbs for planting.

Importing live plants is a regulated activity and requires phyto-sanitary certificates and other documentation.

Most of the tropical plants are available in the US itself. Try tee National Arboratum, Wash. DC for info.

You can also visit: http://www.exoticrainforest.com/

They have fine flowering tropicals, orchids, anthuriums and other tropicals.

Men's poll: When purchasing flowers do you give any thought to the COLOR?

I only go for natural colors, then decide on %26quot;bright%26quot; or not based on the occasion. So yes. (For Valentine%26#039;s day, you gotta go with red or something red-ish. Maaybe white. :)

Although my last girlfriend didn%26#039;t like flowers. Go figure.

Men%26#039;s poll: When purchasing flowers do you give any thought to the COLOR?
It is the most important in flowers, also the kind of flower have different symbolism. Usually red roses are always associated with love. If you love your mother, you give her white roses with red ones in the middle. For close friends usually white roses or other kinds of flowers. But for your love nothing beats the red roses.
Reply:definately
Reply:I go for yellow because of its warmth. Pink and red have become somewhat cliche
Reply:I do. I also consider the flower. I%26#039;ve dated several women who didn%26#039;t particularly care for roses, but adored daisies or something else.
Reply:yes,,of course i do ....
Reply:none whatsoever
Reply:Yes, I always do
Reply:Not so much. On the rare occasion I buy flowers for someone, I will pick an arrangement that features the kind of flowers the recipient likes. If I don%26#039;t know what kind of flowers she likes, then I%26#039;ll pick an arrangement that I like and assume she will too, because I have excellent taste.
Reply:Yes, I do. Red definitely means love/lust

Being from Texas, I used to always give yellow roses. Non-effective,lol, but good for someone in the hospital or something.

White roses are just for weddings I think

pink roses are what you give your mom.

but, I could be wrong.
Reply:I buy whatever color she tells me to buy.

Reply:I do, yes; red is usually equated with love, so I avoid that one like the plague. Yellow and white are good colours to pick.

Sometimes I%26#039;ll choose pink, if I want to send a mixed message. ;-)

I was curious is there any differnce with plants and flowers purchased at Wal-Mart as to Home Depot?

I was just curious on the difference of quality. I would imagine that a flower is a flower and nothing else. Is there any specific things about purchasing from a low end store (Wal-Mart, Target) v.s. like Lowes, Home Depot or local nursery.

I was curious is there any differnce with plants and flowers purchased at Wal-Mart as to Home Depot?
No difference in any of the box stores. However I must warn you DO NOT buy any Hostas from any of these places unless you know your plants.

Most of the locations nation wide have been selling diseased plants for the past couple of years. A few locations do hire people who do have experience and will not allow bad plants to be displayed, however this is the exception.

If you are just buying some cheap annuals, go for it. If you are planing to do a nice flower bed, spend the couple of extra dollars and go to a good nursery. Not only will you get a better plant, but they can be a wealth of information too.
Reply:It dependes on the store. Many Wal-Mart and Home Depot take poor care of their plants. If you buy them quickly after they are delivered from the truck ok, but if they have been at the store several weeks, they may not be as healthy as most nurseries.

Nurseries often have more variety.

But Home Depot and Walmart are cheaper.
Reply:The cost is significantly greater at Home Depot.
Reply:I was told by a woman who used to work at a higher end nusery that Home Depot gets their flowers from the same places they did. The brand to look for is Hampshire (or something simlar with an H).
Reply:Walmart and home depot usually have a lot of the same plants from the same nurseries...they aren%26#039;t bad plants if you can get them the same day they are shipped but most of the time they die back and/or are just not as healthy as when they come in... if your in GA, AL, or NC check out Pike Family Nurseries... they usually have high quality plants at affordable prices...
Reply:no difference
Reply:there is no difference
Reply:No difference in the plants, just cheaper at Walmart, but thats because the clerk at Walmart gets paid half of what the person at Home Depot does. Boycott Walmart.
Reply:Walmart is know for its cheapness.

Go for the local nursery, it might be more expensive, but chances are that the plants you buy there will be of higher quality. The staff is probably better too.
Reply:Many times it is better and more economical to go to a nursery. This is their primary product so they take better care of the plants. You can find nice plants at Walmart and Home-Depot. Just be cautious. Be sure there are no signs of disease or neglect. I have purchased plants from all of the places you mentioned. The bottom line is take good care of it once you take it home.

I'm purchasing flowers for my wedding the day before. How can I keep them from wilting overnight?

If you are buying all your flowers and creating your own stuff:

Cut off 1%26quot; from the stems and put in water w/ the plant food they usually give you when you buy flowers. I have heard that refrigerating them is a good idea as well, but if you can%26#039;t do that, you can%26#039;t.

If you are buying them from a florist, already arranged, they should have a tiny green sponge holding them in place, that has water in it. They should stay good for at least a day or two like that, be careful not to bump them up against anything, they%26#039;ll bruise that way, and you might try again, refrigerating them BEING VERY CAREFUL TO MAKE SURE THE FRIDGE ISN%26#039;T SET ON TOO COLD a temperature, as they will freeze and it will ruin them.

I%26#039;m purchasing flowers for my wedding the day before. How can I keep them from wilting overnight?
I would call the place where you intend to purchase your flowers and let them know your plans. What if you show up and they don%26#039;t have the flowers you had in mind? If you are buying them from a retail store, talk to the manager or person in charge of the floral department and see if they will help you by keeping some nice fresh flowers set back for you.
Reply:If you order them online, they%26#039;ll come needing to be bloomed. You%26#039;ll need a couple days to do this. Either way, keep them in the coolest area you can (not fridge-too cold) basement or crank up the A/C and close off the vents except for the room where the flowers are kept. Keep the well hydrated with spring water.
Reply:My bride and I ordered flowers, she had a great idea to fill the tub with about 1 foot full of water and leave the flowers there. If you need the tub, I would recommend buying some cheap buckets and putting them in there with plenty of water and sunlight. You could also call a florist and ask for their opinion.
Reply:i heard putting them in a refrigerator a good idea. not the freezer.

I%26#039;m also buying my flowers the day before the wedding because i%26#039;m doing the bridal and my bouquet myself and that%26#039;s what i%26#039;m planning to do.
Reply:Give them a fresh cutting of about 1/4 inch while under water. Make sure you use either pruners or a very sharp knife. Then store them in water in a cool room. Do not put them near a vent or fan.
Reply:trim the bottoms a little bit

in a bucket mix flower food plus water according to directions

place them.

keep your home at a cool temp.

keep them away from sun.

CONGRATULATIONS!
Reply:Keep them in a cool place and in a bucket of water.

I want to purchase a digital camera. I would be a beginner. I want to photograph flowers& butterflies.?

there have 2 kind of digital...compact or DSLR..

1.compact digital camera-you need to look a camera with good makro zooming mode..to take close and sharp snap on flower...you can find out olympus sp550uz,panasonic s70,

2.DSLR..need a makro zoom lenses such as 150mm-350mm..to take flower photos..just my some comment hope can help you ...any more question???

I want to purchase a digital camera. I would be a beginner. I want to photograph flowers%26amp; butterflies.?
basically, u need a camera with zoom +macro capability combined with a fairly fast shutter speed. I do photograph flowers especially its details and definitely macro lens is needed.
Reply:ok create a book of your photographs

enter them into contests

yeah
Reply:If u r a beginner then try to perchase a digital cam of 1.3 mega pix to maximum 2mega pix its enough for a beginner i too have a digital camera of 1.3 mega pix, and it works great.

to decide the brand(company) of camera is upto u, the look %26amp; feel etc.... which ever u like.

when ur taking photos of flowers theres no problem or difficulty coz they r still they donot move.

But while taking photographs of butterflies u must be very patient! u must wait for the right moment bcoz butterflies never stay on one place.there is a special adjustment for taking photos which are not still.(i.e in running mode)

and most important tip for a beginner never try to take a photo in zoom. bcoz at the begining our hands r not steady they shake bcoz excitement and the picture becomes blurish.
Reply:For true macro images, you%26#039;ll have to get an SLR or a DSLR. Nikon has the praised 105mm VR macro, and the earlier 60mm macro. Most other camera companies have about the same.
Reply:I just purchased a Canon powershot G7 and it has been great for close ups. It would be great for point and shoot as you are a beginner but also good for down the road when you you want to dabble in some more advanced photography.

That%26#039;s why I bought it anyway. Hope this helps!
Reply:Depending on whether you%26#039;re buying a D-SLR (with removable lens) or a compact digital, lens selection is of primary importance. Most D-SLR %26quot;kit%26quot; lenses do not have true macro capability, so you would need to buy a lens with that feature.

A Compact digital with a really good zoom range (12X or so) is a good choice - like the Canon S3is I own. It also has a great macro (and super macro) that allows you- literally-to be touching the subject.

It is also called Maypop. Here%26#039;s a page that will tell you how to grow and care for the passion flower plant: http://melanys.tripod.com/MayPop.htm

(not the chain kind) and tell them that you are doing your wedding on a budget and want to know what is in season and cheap. I did all the flowers for my wedding for under $200 that way and I even had a toss bouquet.

Have the bridesmaids carry one or three (always carry odd #%26#039;s) of a beautiful long stemed flower instead of a bouquet and that is cheaper too.

I did gladiolas and each girl (5) had 3 stems tied with a ribbon and I had 5 white ones with 3 blush pink roses. The guys then had boutinears of gladiola buds. It was very unique, elegant and inexpensive.

I am unsatisfied with flowers I purchased, so what are my options??

I purchased flowers (18 roses) from 1800-Flowers and they were delivered and left overnight in the snow, so they froze, did not bloom and died in 2-3 days

I complained to them and they sent new ones at no cost but instead of sending 18, they sent 12, even though they had said they would send the EXACT PRODUCT again.

After the 2nd time, I am fed up, I want my money back, what are my options?? Do I have to pay for this or do I have justice?

Has Anyone Ever Purchased Flowers Using Lane Bryant Companies Credit Cards?

Every time I%26#039;ve used their service (which is really Telaflora) they mess up the order. I ordered flowers for my sister for two days before Christmas, and it took them 1 1/2 days to deliver them, even though I called in the morning to order. Then they were crummy looking. When I called to complain, they gave me the standard %26quot;We%26#039;ll take your complaint and see what can be done%26quot; which I%26#039;ve always found to be is nothing, the girl told me that florists pay T.F. to be first in line for referrals. The florist they sent my order to was 14 miles from my sisters house, where as she has two florists who deal in T.F. in her town! Today was the last straw. I called in some flowers for my daughter%26#039;s birthday and the florist called me to say they didn%26#039;t have that arrangement, and then confided in me that the 60.00 I paid to T.F. is only paying for a 34.00 arrangement! Are Lotus flowers available for purchase in the US or are they illegal? I can find no information on this.?

My fiance is beginning the research needed to open a Flower and Garden nursury. One of her favorite flowers is a Lotus, but she was told that they are illegal in the US.

Are Lotus flowers available for purchase in the US or are they illegal? I can find no information on this.?
From the little research I have just done, I have found references to it%26#039;s legality (most weight favors legal) and illegality.

For example Oriental Poppies are illegal to grow in the USA. Now just imagine the DEA taking time out to bother with Poppy plants in little old lady%26#039;s homes (sure if one planted 1-10 acres then there might be some heat). Go to EBay and there are about 50 vendors that sell Oriental Poppy seeds. In fact I live in Florida and I have over 100 oriental poppies growing in my back yard (not your most liberal state.....I don%26#039;t even think the cops have a clue and if they came to site me I%26#039;d have a good laugh and say charge me with something, I want to go to Court) The DA would be begging me to settle...NO I WANT MY DAY IN COURT...Um sorry Master Quark we dismissed all charges!

I would not worry..I%26#039;ve seen them sold in many shops that sell water plants. They might be technically illegal to grow but legal to sell.....I believe the act that made Opium illegal in the USA do not include the seeds (selling of)...or how could you buy a poppy seed role (somebody sells the seeds) and the plants are not much removed from a seed?

Below is somebody selling the extract from the Lotus flower..on the Internet:

Legal Herbs And Natural Smoking Herbs - Rare, Potent %26amp; Exotic.

Smoking herbs may also mean smoking for ritual or incense purpose. These exotic herbs are not all sold for use in pipes. Buy legal herbs and smoking herbs of the highest quality and freshness. The legal herbs sold here (even in bulk ) are premium smoking grade herb. There is a BIG difference. All of the smoking herbs on this page are high grade wild crafted or organic. Due to the possible use of these herbs as smoking herb an adult signature is required for all orders. The descriptions listed below are very brief and may or may not be supported by scientific studies. Most of these herbs have hundreds of different uses. Educating yourself on any that you purchase will enable you to get much more out of them. These legal herbs are pure leaf or flower: not %26quot;herb%26quot;. There is a big difference. If you were to purchase Wild Dagga %26quot;herb%26quot; you would be purchasing the whole plant ground up. For smoking purposes that is certainly not what you want. Our herbs and blends are processed by hand using several different patent pending techniques depending on the herb to remove unwanted debris in the herbs and save the leaf without turning it to an un-smokeable powder. You can only find this exclusive premium product right here.

Oh, you are a doctor...

Boy have I got some great medical stories from my India travels..Here%26#039;s one of my best!

In Haridwar a lady had both her legs severed by falling under a moving train...I had to beg a Mr. Sing to remove his turban (banned by his religion but what a tourniquet, 5 meters long). And then I offered 500 Rupees (a small fortune about $10) for someone to bring me strong! strong! liquor! What a scene, I was covered in blood from head to toe. And my bags left without me.

The Station Master had the train stopped at the next station and all my belongings showed up-including a $1000.00 (1989) Nikon camera. I was then bathed (literally) and given new clothes and put on the next train VIP status AC Coupe (no charge, my money was refunded for my original ticket). And everyone on my car and others kept stopping by and commenting on what I had done. I suspect the SM told the conductor and he told the passengers.

Ah India (now they appreciate a good deed)!

And to this day, I wonder If that woman made it! I%26#039;ll never know!

How do I make a complaint of a purchase I made. Flower Expo sent the wrong colors and flowers to a funeral?

I went to Flower Expo and ordered a bouquet for a funeral. I specified the colors I wanted and also the flowers even the ribbon to be placed on it. I asked for blue flowers and specified carnations white in color and the tips dyed blue with palms in the back ground. The owner showed me some flowers he had but I said no because they were not blue they were purple. He assured me he knew exactly what I would like and he would arrange them himself. When I paid for them I also paid delivery for this memorial gave the address to be delivered to got a reciept and left. Well to make my point I was so devestated when I got to the memorial the whole arrangement was with pink roses orange orchids and the flowers I told him were not blue. He refuses to give me a refund and says I should of took them back how many people do you know of that would carry away flowers meant for the dead and tell the family I HAD TO TAKE THEM BACK. Professional florists realize the primary motivation for the purchase of flowers is to?

A. spend money

B. beautify commercial environments

C. express emotion

D. meet other people

Professional florists realize the primary motivation for the purchase of flowers is to?
It has to be C, though, I would have said B, except that I purchase flowers to beautify my personal environment.
Reply:I think that the primary motivation for the purchase of flowers is a combination of expressing emotion and following cultural customs. The primary times people buy flowers is on holidays (i.e. Valentine%26#039;s Day, Mother%26#039;s Day, Memorial Day), for events (prom, weddings, funerals) and for the emotional payoff (on a date, a plea for forgiveness, or %26quot;just because%26quot;).
Reply:I%26#039;ll go with B and C and to achieve this, some people dont care much about A and florists know this (besides, plants and flowers are $$ to cultivate and preserve)

When and what are the best flowers to purchase for your mother on mother's day?

I%26#039;ve decided to get my mother some flowers, except I really don%26#039;t know what kind of flowers to get. What would you recommend? What color? How many? Also, I am wondering if I should buy them now (a day before mother%26#039;s day) or if it is better to buy them a day of. If i bought them right now, would i have to put them in water? Thanks.

When and what are the best flowers to purchase for your mother on mother%26#039;s day?
The supermarkets will all have nice arrangements for sale first thing tomorrow morning.
Reply:Actually, carnations are nice. Stargazer lilies STINK and they cost too much!

But all moms love tulips. They are fun if it is a bunch of different colors.

You can find them in grocery stores, but yea, also get some chocolates.

And be sure to remember the card!!
Reply:one red rose with no throns. means a lot. buy it now, and give it to her in a vase with water of course.
Reply:Purchase her flowers with the bulbs still on them. She can plant them in a garden and watch them grow each spring.

Cut flowers--anything but carnations!!
Reply:Yes, buy them ahead, on the day there will be no selection left.

Buy fresh ones of the best quality you can afford. If you know her favorite kind of flower or her favorite color and something about the sort of style that she appreciates ( think of clothing, household, etc.) that could help you choose. Yes, put them in a vase with both water and the preservative that you get at the florist shop. Buy at least a dozen with some kinds of %26quot;filler%26quot; foliage. If you can afford it have the florist make a nice arrangement. If not, trim the ends of each stem diagonally yourself before placing them in the liquid solution in the vase.
Reply:The best flowers are star gazer Lillie%26#039;s. They are gorgeous and smell pretty. Your mom will love them. Roses are played out, and tulips are boring... cant go wrong with these :) get a dozen, you can by them now and keep them in the refrigerator, you don%26#039;t have to put them in water, but at least wrap a wet paper towel around the ends, and before you or mom put them in water, make sure to re cut the ends so they get a fresh opening to the water. ( i used to work in a flower shop:))
Reply:I%26#039;m a Mom, I would love to get a bunch of tulips.
Reply:Oh, tulips sound lovely this time of year - a dozen tulips would be plenty! Most stores also have a variety bouquet in beautiful spring colors. If you have a vase to keep them in, buy them today, if not, buy them tomorrow. You could also go with a live plant instead of flowers or if Mom is a gardener, then a flat of live annuals that she can plant in the garden (with your help?!?) would be wonderful too.

Now if money is no object, go to a florist but if you need to watch your pennies, then grocery store flowers are good.

How about a box of Godiva chocolates to go with those flowers?
Reply:I%26#039;m thinking that you may want to go with some nice perfume. A set with lotion and shower gel. Fileines, Macy%26#039;s, Bergdorf%26#039;s, Lord and Tailors etc they have nice stuff
Reply:I love gerber daisies!

I am having difficulty obtaining fresh Lotus flowers in the UK. Where or how I can purchase lotus flowers?

Are you looking to buy just the flower? or the plant?

Lotus is not a traditional cut flower. I don%26#039;t know how it does as a cut flower. It may not be available. Check with a local %26quot;high end%26quot; florist, they%26#039;re more likely to bring in such an exotic flower. Large chains or small independents are most likely targeting mainstream customers.

If you%26#039;re looking for the plant, it is an aquatic plant. You should be able to find it at a local garden center that sells or specializes in garden ponds or water gardens.

I hope that this helps

What are some good flowers to purchase for my spring patio?

i am not a good gardener. i need some pretty flowers that would do well in the city with moderate sunlight. i hope they would last all summer. thanks for your help.

What are some good flowers to purchase for my spring patio?
Impatients are really cool and come in a variety of beautiful colors. I found a plant last year called %26quot;blue hawaii%26quot; that was the mot georgous color of blue. I was a novice until last year and thoroughly enjoyed my little garden of flowers and got plenty of compliments. This year I want to plant sunflowers against this wooden fence that borders my place.
Reply:Petunias are a nice flower to have. If you pinch off the dead blooms they will usually bloom all summer. Sultanas will also bloom all summer long, but they can%26#039;t have direct sunlight all day long.
Reply:when you visit the garden centre, you will see that all plants come with a guide that will tell you what light the plant needs. then you can make an informed decision. Petunias are always a good choice.

Where to purchase wedding flowers?

Were getting married in the Spring and have looked into flowers for our wedding at local flower shops and they are quite expensive. I was wondering if there are any ways that we could save money. Or if anyone knows of any cheap places that we could order flowers. Any suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Where to purchase wedding flowers?
I found that some sites online had awesome prices for silk, if you would consider silk flowers. I had hot pink peonies as the main flower for my wedding and used silk, and it turned out awesome! (I can send pics of ours if you like!)
Reply:Hobby Lobby and MIchaels run sales periodically. We purchased ours for under $130 for them all. If you have any creative streak in you, try it.
Reply:We%26#039;re using www.growersbox.com, the online wholesale florist. (Someone else mentioned them earlier.) Their flowers are beautiful, and they have been so helpful -- with everything from the names of the roses we%26#039;re using and how to care for them to when to order, etc. etc. The Growers Box has several %26quot;wedding in a box%26quot; packages to choose from... starting with 100 roses, greens and baby%26#039;s breath for $150.00. (http://www.growersbox.com/wedding-flower... You can also order gerbera daisies, tulips, carnations, lilies, etc.

If you have some crafty friends or relatives, this may be the way to go. You can make your own hand-tied bouquets, corsages and bouttonieres. (Check out: http://www.save-on-crafts.com/roundbouqu... for some ideas.) Then you can put the rest in some nice vases for centerpieces and/or use flower petals as part of the decorations. You can even purchase or rent a large silk flower arrangement and add real flowers to it for more height, depth and beauty.

Good luck on your special day!

Does anyone know if there is an online store where I could purchase flowers to be sent to an APO address?
An APO is an acronym for Army Post Office. You can%26#039;t deliver flowers to an APO. This would be like trying to deliver flowers to someone at their PO Box, rather than at their home or office.

Does anyone know if there is an online store where I could purchase flowers to be sent to an APO address?
The APO addresses are located in the US on the east or west coast. sometimes the mail being sent will sit in that location for a week or more waiting for transport to what ever foreign post her penpals are stationed. The best thing to send is att calling cards. They are rarely available in the px, especially in Iraq. My brother also likes the home made cookins and brownies. Flowers would be dead before they got them.
Reply:Flowers cannot be sent to an APO. An APO is an acronym for Army Post Office. This would be the same as you trying to send flowers to a PO Box.

Flowers can be sent to someone overseas, but you would need the street address of the person. This assumes your sister is trying to send flowers to someone stationed outside a combat zone like the UK or Germany. If she is trying to send flowers to someone in a combat zone, she is likely out of luck.

Reply:Never been married but i like the question ^_^; When i was engaged i occasionally buy flowers for my bride to be(twice a week sometimes with chocolates, and a teddy bear). They wernt natural roses, i think they were painted or something, because they were the most beautiful crimson red i have ever seen.
Reply:My husband surprised me with a dozen pink roses last night! He did it last month too. We%26#039;ve been married 4 years. He knew he did a little thing to make me mad yesterday so the roses were a gesture. Usually we just talk out our anger, so I was surprised by the flowers.
Reply:Occasionally my husband buys me flowers,we%26#039;ve been married 17 yrs. He bought me roses after the birth of both our daughters,on Valentines day roses and daises.I%26#039;ve told him I don%26#039;t really like flowers because they die,I like things I can keep,,,,,,On our 12th yr anniversary he sent me 11 real and 1 fake rose and on the card he wrote %26quot;I%26#039;ll love you till the last rose dies%26quot;,,now that was romantic,,,but it wasn%26#039;t the flowers that got my heart it was the words.

Just go and apply for a tax id number that simple. Come up with a name for your hobby company its that simple. You can even file taxes at the end of the year in conjunction with your normal taxes. A company can show a loss for the first 5 years so this can come in handy such as buying that new computer or what ever that you might use in your business, it can be used as a write off on your taxes so it is pretty much free. there are many ways to get tax cuts with having your own tax id number. :%26lt;)
Reply:I would contact a friend or associate with a buisness license and buy it through them. Offer an incentive.
Reply:Call the IRS and see what they say...cant hurt! I just got off the phone with them and got my tax ID number in a matter of 10 mins.
